FAQs
Below is a list of the most commonly asked questions about VersaGrid™. If you have a question that is NOT listed, please send your question to JBlack@CannonEquipment.com
-
Question: How much does VG cost?
Answer: The VG system is uniquely tailored to meet our customer's specific needs so the price depends on how it is configured.
-
Question: Will I pay more for VG?
Answer: You are actually paying less for the VersaGrid™ system over the life of the program. Here are 5 areas where VG will increase your sales/profits and save you money.
- Most new front-end programs maximize space and product pack-out when it is initially rolled-out. Once minor (or major) reset changes are made to the program after the first year, space is no longer maximized because the category areas cannot be flexed on a traditional front-end fixture (they are fixed). VersaGrid™ allows you to change the fixture to accommodate any merchandising changes desired, thus increasing your sales and profits.
- Because VersaGrid™ provides maximum flexibility, you can change your program as often as you like; take advantage of changing shopper needs, replacing poor performing products, run seasonal and holiday programs, add new product introductions (including new grand slam items), and increase cost share revenues. This can create thousands of dollars in incremental sales and profits.
- Once the initial program is rolled-out, the cost to purchase incremental fixtures in small volumes can double or as much as triple. VersaGrid™ allows you to purchase small runs at the same price as the original program cost, thus saving you thousands of dollars.
- Most programs last 3-5 years, then the process starts all over again with huge new program expenses. Because the VersaGrid™ base system last 10 years (and can be easily reconfigured to change footprint shape/size and accept coolers), program changes can be made without a complete new fixture overhaul, saving you hundreds of thousands of dollars on a new program roll-out.
- Anyone who has ever rolled-out a front-end program recognizes that they rarely go as planned. Once the program reaches the store for the first time, that's when glaring issues are seen for the first time. Often times it is too late to correct the program, because of the inability to change the fixture. With VersaGrid™, any program mistakes can be corrected instantly saving thousands of dollars in new fixture costs.
-
Question: Specifically, how much will the VersaGrid™ system generate in additional sales and profits to my company?
Answer: Since every program is different, and some stores merchandise and promote better than others, we would recommend establishing a time where we can meet with you to review a proform around your specific program. In this discussion we can recommend various merchandising strategies using VersaGrid™ and review the incremental sales and profits generated as well as a ROI provided by each scenario.
-
Question: Is VersaGrid™ really designed to last 10 years?
Answer: Yes it is! We spent a lot of time designing VersaGrid™ to be able to withstand the rigors of 10 plus years in a retail environment. If you look at the design of VersaGrid™, you will see that the core frame of our system is constructed of heavy gauge two-sided steel grid and the base is built with heavy gauge steel reinforced U-Channels. We conducted both static and dynamic load bearing tests to validate the structural integrity of the fixture, and to measure the life expectancy. The VersaGrid™ system met or exceeded all of our testing parameters designed to simulate the abuse that a retail environment can dish out. We feel that the quality and features provided by VersaGrid™ makes this system an extreme value.
-
Question: How can I get a sample of VersaGrid™ to evaluate?
Answer: Please contact your Cannon Equipment sales representative (or visit us at www.versagrid.com). We would like to meet with you to review a VersaGrid™ sample at your facility. We can typically have a sample ready in as early as 2 weeks.
-
Question: What does the fact that VersaGrid™ is patented mean to me?
Answer: VersaGrid™ is an evolutionary system with features not found on any other fixture in the market. Because of the unique features such as component adjustment brackets, component locator system, flexible merchandising grid, and a multi-position frame attachment system, we feel that our patented system will provide you with a strategic advantage to help you reach your sales and profit goals.
-
Question: Where will VersaGrid™ ship from?
Answer: We have multiple manufacturing and distribution locations, all capable of assembling the VersaGrid™ system. The ship from location will depend on the final destination.
-
Question: Can VersaGrid™ accommodate standard components?
Answer: We understand that many of our customers would like to continue to use their standard peg hooks since they generally use them throughout the store. VersaGrid™ is designed to accommodate industry standard peg hooks with the use of our special peg board adapter system. Our shelves, baskets, and mag pockets are designed to use our special grid attachment brackets which allow you to maximize your stack-out, with up to 1/4" vertical adjustment. We can also design any custom component to work with our system.
-
Question: Is there software available to help manage change?
Answer: We are evaluating a software solution that will help in the planogramming and change management of the system. We should have more information about that system later this year.
-
Question: Is VersaGrid™ more environmentally friendly than traditional fixtures?
Answer: Absolutely! Because VersaGrid™ allows you to maintain a program for 10 plus years (while changing the footprint or merchandising as often as you like), there is no need to dispose of your FEM program every 3-5 years. That's fewer products to dispose of into the environment and a tremendous cost savings. Also, the unique design allows for VersaGrid™ to be shipped in a nested or knocked-down configuration if desired. This saves fuel and reduces shipping costs. Finally, components can be recycled and reused through the Cannon Equipment network. VersaGrid™ is a Sustainable Solution!
